Mamma Mia! Birmingham Theatre reviews
Steve never disappoints! He's a Tour de Farce!
Steve, what a genius and talented person he is! We were thrilled to be able to see Mamma Mia! at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans for my daughter's 43rd birthday. I love his creative, intelligent sense of humor. She, her dad, and I tell our friends that Steve is our family's "Patron Saint." A pure genius, he has generously spread his abilities across the spectrum of entertainment. His band, The Steep Canyon Rangers, blew us away. If bluegrass isn't my favorite genre of music, deal me in when Steve Martin plays it. WOW!!! However, I wish he'd left Martin Short, with his juvenile, potty mouth, at home. I didn't expect to see this type of garbage on stage with a giant like Steve Martin, although Steve seems to love him and his talent. His talent hasn't matured with age as has Steve's. He does, however, have an amazing singing voice, but too bad. If he had been the main performer, I'd have walked out. I endured him to be able to give my daughter Steve Martin for her birthday, and she was absolutely delighted. He seems like such a nice "wild and crazy" guy. He is 67 years old, for crying out loud! Thank you, Steve! We love you!!!
